Michael is a DOP and self-shooting director currently working in the UK & Sierra Leone and with more than a decade's experience working across 20 countries. Michael has produced award winning film and multimedia content working with leading production companies and broadcasters such as BBC, Channel 4, VICE, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, PBS, A&E, SBS Australia, ABC Australia and many others.
Michael's versatility and real world experience means that he can work confidently and comfortably in a range of diverse and challenging environments. Michael is a problem solver able to hit the ground running, allowing more space for creativity and producing unique content.
Michael's work has seen him travel the Mekong River from source to mouth, hike through Burmese jungles with rebel soldiers, cover the entire Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone, motorbike across Cambodia, investigate human trafficking in China & Malaysia, explore water issues across Israel and Jordan, follow diamond dealers in Sierra Leone, and many, many more. Michael can also comfortably work in controlled environments confidently lighting and filming interviews or corporate activities.
His background and professional experience in post-production as an editor and a broadcast designer (as well as a film projectionist) only adds to his tool belt of skills and talents as a filmmaker. Michael can reliably manage media, deliver rushes, edit in the field, colour manage and troubleshoot video tech issues.
Michael is available for full service video production or can work as part of a larger crew as camera operator/DOP. Michael has a Sony FS7 kit along with a Sony A7rii and can be hired with or without equipment.
